Approov enables you to store information very securely on individual mobile devices using the App Instance Secure Strings facility. Data is encrypted on the device and is never sent to the Approov cloud. However, the device specific encryption key is held in the Approov cloud and is only made available to app instances that pass all of the attestation checks. Thus this data remains secure, even if an attempt is made to extract it by manipulating the app. This can be used to hold longer lived access tokens so they cannot be extracted from the device.
