We write a lot of emails for our clients at Curaytor. And before we start any of them, we answer one question:

What do you want the person reading this email to do?

Once you know the answer, writing the email gets a whole lot easier. For example, if you want to start conversations with homeowners who may be thinking about selling, you need a question they’ll want to answer.

Subject Line: Which project would you tackle before selling?

If selling your home has crossed your mind, you’ve probably started thinking about the projects you’d want to finish first.

Fresh paint? New countertops? That bathroom you’ve been wanting to update since 2019?

Some projects can make a big difference to buyers. But others may cost more than they’ll add to your sale.

If you tell me what you’re considering, I’d be happy to share my opinion based on what buyers are responding to in [MARKET].

What’s at the top of your list?

You can see why this works. That email has one job: get a homeowner to reply.

Could you add your newest listing, a link to your latest blog and an invitation to follow you on Instagram?

Sure! But now the person reading it has to figure out why you emailed them in the first place.
