Welcome to Day 4 of Init. Today, we’re bringing S3 support to Appwrite Storage.

The S3 API has become the common language of object storage. Now, you can use the tools and workflows you already know directly with Appwrite.

Point your existing S3 clients, SDKs, or tools at your Appwrite buckets and files, with no migration required.

Bring your existing S3 tools

Use the AWS CLI, AWS SDKs, rclone, s3cmd, and other S3-compatible tools with Appwrite Storage without building custom integrations.

Keep the storage you already have

Your existing Appwrite buckets and files work across both the native Storage API and the S3 API.

Files uploaded over S3 also appear in the Appwrite Console, so you can keep using both workflows side by side.

Multipart uploads out of the box

S3 SDKs and clients can handle large files using standard multipart uploads, without requiring additional upload logic in your application.

The S3 API is available on Appwrite Cloud today.
