Hey there,

You probably have a lot of ideas of what you could do to speed up your website, but it's not always clear what changes have the most impact and which ones might not work at all.

Site speed experiments solve this problem. You can run a page test with modified HTML and then see how that impacts your metrics.

Either edit your code directly, or click the "Run Experiment" button in the Recommendations section of your test results.

Once the test is complete you can see whether your metrics have improved and if your website would load faster visually.

Here are a few examples of the tests you can run:

Adding priority Hints to prioritize LCP images

Removing render-blocking scripts

Adding preload hints

Adding a CSS min-height to reduce layout shifts
