In this Canny Update, we're exploring new tools in Canny's MCP server. We'll also look at view sharing and the upgraded reporting tab.

🤖 Do more with your Canny data in AI tools

The Canny MCP server now has over 55 tools. New tools span ideas, groups, users, companies, and Portal comments. More of your Canny workflow now runs from ChatGPT or Claude.

From your AI assistant, you can now:

Create, update, and move insights, with priority set on creation

Create and manage saved views

Link HubSpot deals and Salesforce opportunities to your ideas

Create users and companies, with optional MRR or ARR

List, create, and delete Portal comments

Canny keeps the data clean. New users dedupe by email. New companies dedupe by domain.

The MCP server is available to teams using Ideas on the Pro plan and above.

🤝 Control who sees and edits your views

Teams often end up with many views and many admins. Not every view is for everyone.

View sharing puts you in control. New views start private to their owner. Right-click a view's tab and click Share to open up the share modal.

Owner: full control, including sharing and deletion

Can edit: change the view's name, filters, columns, and sort

Can see: open and use the view, without saving changes

You can also set general access for your whole team or a specific team of admins. The default All Ideas and Portal views stay shared with everyone. Views you created before this update are unchanged.

View sharing is available for teams on the Business plan.

📈 See the revenue behind your feedback

The Reporting tab has a fresh look. It's organized into three sections: Ideas, Autopilot, and Portal. A global date range picker scopes every report to the period you care about.

The Ideas section shows you which ideas are worth a closer look:

Customer Requests: priority feedback alongside renewal date and risk

Sales Pipeline: open opportunities linked to ideas, and the revenue you could earn

Churned Revenue: features ranked by churned revenue, so you see what's costing you customers

Groups: feedback volume per group, with associated and opportunity revenue

Theme trends: theme popularity across your ideas over time

Click select numbers to drill down into the ideas behind them.

The Autopilot section shows what Autopilot processed and captured, by source.

The Portal section covers new feedback, votes, comments, stale feedback, and admin activity.

The upgraded Reporting tab is available to teams using Canny Ideas.
