Small details can make a huge difference in how you create your courses, set up your community, and design your student experience. So we went looking for the ones that could make building on Podia feel even better.

We asked creators like you what you'd want us to improve at Podia. What details would make your work easier day-to-day? What new features would make the biggest difference as you build your business?

You delivered, sharing honest experiences and thoughtful ideas across all kinds of niches and business sizes.

As a result, I’m so excited to share eight new features for your courses and community, including a few more ways to manage your email sending and chats with your students and members.

Here's what's new.

New Podia features

Duplicate course lessons and quizzes: Now you can make a copy of a lesson or quiz within the same course or into a different course. A great tool if you’re building multiple courses that share common material.

Lock new lessons until previous lessons and quizzes have been completed: You can require customers to complete lessons and quizzes before moving forward in your course. Customers who haven't met the requirement(s) will see the section locked until they complete the necessary lessons or quizzes.

Set a passing score on quizzes: This lets you make sure students understand the material before moving forward. Choose any passing score from 0–100%. After someone submits their answers, they’ll see whether they passed or failed, along with their score and results. If they don’t reach the passing score, they can retake the quiz.

Target customers based on course and lesson progress: With new course progress filters, you can filter your audience based on whether they’ve completed an entire course or a specific lesson. We’ve also added a new email campaign entrance condition based on course progress, allowing you to automatically enter someone into a campaign when they complete a course or a specific lesson.

New chat options: In the past, your members could set their profile to hidden to disable chat. Now, profile visibility and chat are two separate settings. You can decide if you want chat available for everyone, only between you and your customers (no member-to-member chat), or if you want to disable chat altogether.

Filter your audience by canceled paid plans: You can filter your audience to find members who’ve canceled one of your paid plans. Choose any plan or a specific plan, then narrow the results by when they canceled. It’s an easy way to follow up, ask for feedback, or send a targeted offer to win them back.

Comments are now part of member profiles: You can click on a community member to see their profile, and now their profile page shows a “Comments” tab. This will let you see every conversation they've joined and what they’ve contributed.

Custom member badges: You can now assign custom badges to your community members. You can decide what the badges say, give them a color, and add an icon, and you can filter your audience based on who has what badge for easy emailing.
