Tips from a Template-teer / Matt, Email Marketing Specialist

Hi there,

Pacing isn't easy, but it's worth putting in the TLC to getting it right. Text too slow, and you risk losing viewers. Too fast, and your message gets lost in the shuffle.

As a general rule, you should give viewers at least 1 second for every word on the screen.

Some practical guidelines:

Short labels/titles (1-3 words): 2–3 seconds minimum

Sentences/captions: ~1 second per word, so a 6-word line ≈ 6 seconds

Longer copy (2+ lines): give an extra 1–2 seconds buffer for slower readers

GIF showing how to upload media directly from your phone!

When in doubt, read it yourself. If you can't get through it comfortably, viewers can't either.
