Rage Clicks just got smarter

We just shipped a big upgrade to Rage Clicks—and if you rely on them to catch user frustration, you're going to notice the difference.

Here's what changed:

Smarter detection

Rage clicks now trigger when a user clicks three or more times on the same element (or within a 50-pixel radius) in under a second. From there, every additional rapid click in that cluster gets counted — and the event only closes once a full second passes with no clicking, or the user moves outside that area.

The result? Your dashboard now shows the total click count for the entire burst, along with metadata on exactly which element was clicked.

Better Session Recording timeline placement

Previously, the rage click marker appeared at the end of the clicking burst — which meant you were already late to the story. Now, the event marker is backdated to just before the rapid clicks begin, so you can see exactly what the user was looking at when frustration set in during a Session Recording.

Fewer false positives

Not every rapid click is a sign of frustration. Clicking through an image carousel, dragging a slider, or tapping a quantity button repeatedly is expected behavior — and Lucky Orange now knows the difference. Those interactions will no longer trigger rage click events or clutter your timeline.

One thing worth noting: All websites are constructed differently, so while this filtering will dramatically cut down on false positives, it won't catch 100% of them.

No action needed on your end — everything is already live. Head into Lucky Orange and see for yourself.

As always, let us know if you have questions.
