Hey there,

We’ve just shipped billing limits. You can now set a monthly spend cap on your organization and your tasks will stop running once you reach it. There was nothing capping your spend before this so we’d recommend setting a limit now, or choosing to have no limit if you prefer.

How to set a billing limit

Open the Organization menu in the top left of the dashboard, then Settings → Billing limits. You get 3 choices:

Use your plan limit as your maximum spend

Set a custom billing limit

No billing limit

How to set billing alerts

We also recommend setting spend alerts. They fire on fixed dollar amounts or on percentages of your limit, so you hear about it long before anything pauses.

What happens if you hit the limit

We pause execution across your billable environments. New runs keep triggering and queueing, they just don’t start. You get an email straight away with a link to your Billing limits page.

Then you have 24 hours. Raise or remove the limit and execution resumes automatically, and you choose whether to run the backlog or discard it. Leave it and queued runs are discarded for the rest of the billing period.

In-progress runs finish normally unless you turn on Cancel in-progress runs.

Read the full billing limits and alerts docs here.

Thanks,

James
