# Brew vs Topol

## The short version

Choose Brew if you want a fully agentic setup, where your AI agent drives lifecycle marketing to engage and retain customers. Brew designs every email from your brand and runs your automations agentically.

Choose Topol if you want a white-label email editor to embed in your own product, or multilingual templates, and have someone to build each email.

## Why teams switch from Topol to Brew

Brew is fully agentic: your agent designs on-brand emails, sends them and runs your automations. In Topol, your team builds each email and sends it from another platform.

## Your agent runs your lifecycle email.

Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Grok over MCP and your agent gets every Brew tool. It designs emails from your brand, builds audiences, runs automations and schedules sends. OAuth and organization-scoped MCP connections ask you to confirm live sends and launches. Brand-scoped API keys can execute permitted calls without the MCP confirmation step.

## Every email designed from your brand.

Paste your website and Brew writes your brand into two files your agent reads for every email. Describe the email and it appears on the canvas, ready to edit by hand or in chat.

## Moving from Topol

Keep your current email platform sending until Brew passes your tests. We’ll do the move with you on a call if you like.

1. **Bring your templates**: In Topol, export each template as HTML, then import the HTML into Brew; imports are free. Most teams have Brew redesign their emails from their brand instead, which is faster and looks better.
2. **Set up your brand**: Paste your website and Brew writes your brand into two files your agent reads for every email, so each one starts on-brand.
3. **Import your contacts**: Export a CSV of your contacts from the email platform you send with today and import it into Brew. The import shows who opted out before it runs. Before importing, prepare a Subscribed column: true for opted-in contacts, false for unsubscribed, cleaned or suppressed contacts. Invert any Unsubscribed true/false flag first. Map the column to Subscribed and review the opt-out preview; new contacts default to subscribed if this value is missing.
4. **Connect your sending domain**: Connect and verify your sending domain, then review its health and inbox placement. For a new domain, select Gradual send to ramp the campaign in configurable batches before a large send. Gradual send is off by default; connecting a domain does not automatically warm it up.

## Questions

### Is Brew a good Topol alternative?

Yes, if you design emails for your own brand and want one tool that also sends them. Brew designs finished, on-brand emails from your brand, sends them from your own domain and runs your automations from your AI agent, with unlimited contacts on every plan. Topol designs emails and exports them to the platform you send with, so most teams pay for two tools. If you need an editor to embed in your own product, Brew does not offer one.

### Can I use Brew alongside Topol?

Yes. Teams that already build emails in Topol can keep it and send from Brew: export the HTML from Topol and import it into Brew. You can also design in Brew and export the HTML, or save it straight into Klaviyo, Braze, HubSpot and eight other platforms.

### How is Brew’s agent different from Topol’s AI?

In Brew, your agent designs the finished email from brand files it reads every time, builds audiences, runs automations and sends, from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Grok. Topol’s AI Assistant and AI Chat work inside its editor and call OpenAI: they rewrite, shorten, translate and proofread copy, and its docs say only text and button blocks can be changed. Topol lists no MCP server, and its emails go to another platform to send.
OAuth and organization-scoped MCP connections ask you to confirm live sends and launches. Brand-scoped API keys can execute permitted calls without the MCP confirmation step.

### Do Topol’s AI emails come out on-brand?

Topol’s docs say its AI changes text and button blocks only, so the design is up to you: you start from one of its templates or a blank canvas, load your fonts, reuse saved blocks and lay out each email yourself. Teams that move to Brew tell us these drafts rarely look like their brand, so someone still redesigns them. Brew designs the whole email, layout, copy and images, from brand files your agent reads every time, so it goes out on-brand.

### Will Brew cost more or less than Topol?

Compare Brew with Topol plus the email platform you send from. Topol PRO is $10 a month and Team is $15 a month for three members, with more members from $10 each, and sending is paid for separately. Brew bills on sends and AI credits with unlimited contacts and seats, and one plan covers design and sending. Start with the free trial and compare at your own numbers.

### Do I still need an email platform with Brew?

No. Brew sends marketing and transactional email from your own domain, runs your automations and holds your contacts, with unlimited contacts on every plan.

### Is Brew SOC 2 certified?

Not yet. We complete security reviews and sign a DPA on request, and our privacy policy, DPA, GDPR page and subprocessor list are public at docs.brew.new/legal.

### How long does it take to move from Topol?

Your first on-brand email is ready the day you start the trial. The rest depends on how many templates and flows you run: most teams have Brew redesign their emails rather than import them, contacts import from your email platform’s CSV export, and each automation is rebuilt by describing it. Keep your current email platform sending until Brew passes your tests.

### Do you help with the move?

Yes. We get on a call to import your contacts and unsubscribe list, bring over or redesign your emails, rebuild your flows and connect your sending domain.
