Canonical: https://brew.new/compare/gemini-email-marketing

## The short version

Use Gemini on its own to draft emails in Gmail with Help me write, make images and plan campaigns.

Connect Gemini to Brew and it designs on-brand emails, sends them from your domain to your list and runs your automations, with you approving every send.

## Gemini alone vs Gemini + Brew

### Key differences

| | Gemini alone | Gemini + Brew |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Designs finished, on-brand emails | Partly: Drafts text in Gmail and makes images; you design the email | Layout, copy and images from your brand, ready to send |
| Renders correctly in every inbox | Canvas previews web pages; nothing on email clients | Email-safe HTML, with inbox rendering tests |
| Sends from your own domain | Partly: Drafts in your own Gmail; you send one at a time | From your verified domain, once you approve |
| Keeps contacts, audiences and unsubscribes | No contact list, audiences or opt-outs | Unlimited contacts, audiences and opt-outs in one place |
| Runs automations from your product’s events | Cannot trigger emails from signups or purchases | Stripe, Shopify, Clerk, Supabase or your own events |
| Shows what happened after you send | No opens, clicks or inbox placement data | Opens, clicks and inbox placement tests |

### Working on emails

| | Gemini alone | Gemini + Brew |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Writes and rewrites email copy | Help me write drafts and refines emails in Gmail | Your assistant writes; Brew keeps it on-brand |
| Plans campaigns and lifecycle flows | Plans campaigns and flows in chat | Then builds them as live automations |
| Remembers your brand for every email | Partly: Memories and skills can hold brand guidelines | Brand files your agent reads every time |
| Edit the design by hand | Partly: Edit the text it writes, not a layout | Infinite canvas, by hand or in chat |
| Work on emails as a team | Partly: Through Google Workspace plans | Unlimited seats and comments on every email |

### Sending and compliance

| | Gemini alone | Gemini + Brew |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Unsubscribe links and suppression | Nothing to add or honor unsubscribes | Opt-outs honored on every send |
| Domain health and gradual sending | No sending domain to set up or warm up | Domain checks, plus Gradual send for new domains |

### Pricing

| | Gemini alone | Gemini + Brew |
| --- | --- | --- |
| What it costs | Gemini app free; Google AI Pro $19.99 a month | Brew from $99/month: 10,000 AI credits and 50,000 sends |

## What Gemini does well on its own

- Help me write drafts and refines emails right inside Gmail.
- Makes and edits images in the free Gemini app, and memories and skills can hold your brand guidelines.
- Scheduled actions run prompts on a schedule on Google AI Pro, Ultra and qualifying Workspace plans.

## Where Gemini stops

- It drafts one email at a time in your own Gmail, with no contact list, audiences, unsubscribes or sending domain.
- Canvas builds web pages; Google says nothing about how HTML renders in email clients.
- Nothing triggers an email from your product’s events, and it sees no opens or clicks.

## What it costs

Google does not name a plan for custom apps in the Gemini app. Google AI Plus is $4.99 a month, AI Pro $19.99 and AI Ultra from $99.99, in the US.

Brew is billed on emails sent and AI credits, with unlimited contacts on every plan: a free trial with 500 AI credits and 1,000 sends, then Growth at $99/month for 10,000 AI credits and 50,000 sends.

## Connect Gemini to Brew

The Gemini app connects to remote MCP servers as custom apps for adults in the US on personal Google accounts, in English. Work and school accounts cannot add custom apps yet.

1. **Sign in to Brew and pick a brand.** Start a free trial, paste your website so Brew writes your brand files, and connect your sending domain.
2. **Open Connected Apps.** On gemini.google.com, open Settings → Connected Apps, then Add a custom app under Custom apps.
3. **Add Brew.** Enter https://brew.new/api/mcp, click Next and sign in to Brew.
4. **Ask Gemini for an email.** Type @ in a prompt and pick Brew. Gemini asks you to confirm any write action, and Brew asks before anything sends.

## Your agent runs your lifecycle email.

Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Grok over MCP and your agent gets every Brew tool. It designs emails from your brand, builds audiences, runs automations and schedules sends. OAuth and organization-scoped MCP connections ask you to confirm live sends and launches. Brand-scoped API keys can execute permitted calls without the MCP confirmation step.

## Every email designed from your brand.

Paste your website and Brew writes your brand into two files your agent reads for every email. Describe the email and it appears on the canvas, ready to edit by hand or in chat.

## Questions

### Can Gemini do email marketing on its own?

Partly. Gemini can draft emails in Gmail with Help me write, make images and plan campaigns. On its own it does not design a finished, on-brand email, hold your contacts, send from your domain or run automations.

### Can Gemini send marketing emails?

Not marketing email. Help me write drafts emails in your own Gmail and you send them one at a time; Gemini has no contact list, unsubscribes or sending domain.
Connected to Brew, Gemini sends campaigns from your own domain to your audiences, with unsubscribes handled, after you approve.

### How do I connect Gemini to Brew?

The Gemini app connects to remote MCP servers as custom apps for adults in the US on personal Google accounts, in English. Work and school accounts cannot add custom apps yet. Open Connected Apps: On gemini.google.com, open Settings → Connected Apps, then Add a custom app under Custom apps. Add Brew: Enter https://brew.new/api/mcp, click Next and sign in to Brew. Ask Gemini for an email: Type @ in a prompt and pick Brew. Gemini asks you to confirm any write action, and Brew asks before anything sends.

### Which Gemini plan do I need for Brew?

Google’s help names no plan: custom apps work in the Gemini web app for adults in the US on personal Google accounts, in English. Work and school accounts cannot add them yet, so Gemini in Gmail for Workspace cannot use Brew today.

### Do Gemini’s emails come out on-brand?

Gemini writes good copy, but on its own it does not design the email from your brand. Brew does: it writes your brand into files your agent reads for every email, then designs the layout, copy and images and tests how it renders.

### Does Gemini send anything without my approval?

No. Over OAuth, Brew asks you to confirm before anything is sent or goes live, so the assistant drafts and you approve.

### What does it cost?

Google does not name a plan for custom apps in the Gemini app. Google AI Plus is $4.99 a month, AI Pro $19.99 and AI Ultra from $99.99, in the US. Brew is billed on emails sent and AI credits, with unlimited contacts on every plan: a free trial with 500 AI credits and 1,000 sends, then Growth at $99/month for 10,000 AI credits and 50,000 sends.
