# Grok + Brew

xAI’s assistant, with custom connectors for every user, and what changes when one of them is Brew.

Canonical: https://brew.new/compare/grok-email-marketing

## The short version

Use Grok on its own to write copy, make images with Grok Imagine and send the odd email from your own Gmail or Outlook.

Connect Grok to Brew and it designs on-brand emails, sends them from your domain to your list and runs your automations, with you approving every send.

## Grok alone vs Grok + Brew

### Key differences

| | Grok alone | Grok + Brew |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Designs finished, on-brand emails | Partly: Writes copy and makes images; you design the email | Layout, copy and images from your brand, ready to send |
| Renders correctly in every inbox | xAI says nothing on email-client rendering | Email-safe HTML, with inbox rendering tests |
| Sends from your own domain | Partly: One email at a time from your own Gmail or Outlook | From your verified domain, once you approve |
| Keeps contacts, audiences and unsubscribes | No contact list, audiences or opt-outs | Unlimited contacts, audiences and opt-outs in one place |
| Runs automations from your product’s events | Cannot trigger emails from signups or purchases | Stripe, Shopify, Clerk, Supabase or your own events |
| Shows what happened after you send | No opens, clicks or inbox placement data | Opens, clicks and inbox placement tests |

### Working on emails

| | Grok alone | Grok + Brew |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Writes and rewrites email copy | Drafts and rewrites copy in chat | Your assistant writes; Brew keeps it on-brand |
| Plans campaigns and lifecycle flows | Plans campaigns and flows in chat | Then builds them as live automations |
| Remembers your brand for every email | Partly: Memory, instructions and Skills hold brand notes | Brand files your agent reads every time |
| Edit the design by hand | Partly: Edit the text it writes, not a layout | Infinite canvas, by hand or in chat |
| Work on emails as a team | Partly: Grok Business and Enterprise | Unlimited seats and comments on every email |

### Sending and compliance

| | Grok alone | Grok + Brew |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Unsubscribe links and suppression | Nothing to add or honor unsubscribes | Opt-outs honored on every send |
| Domain health and gradual sending | No sending domain to set up or warm up | Domain checks, plus Gradual send for new domains |

### Pricing

| | Grok alone | Grok + Brew |
| --- | --- | --- |
| What it costs | Connectors for all users; X Subscription from $8 a month | Brew from $99/month: 10,000 AI credits and 50,000 sends |

## What Grok does well on its own

- Writes copy, and Grok Imagine makes images on every plan from Plus.
- Memory, custom instructions and Skills keep your brand notes across conversations.
- The Gmail and Outlook connectors read, draft and send from your own mailbox, and Automations run saved instructions on a schedule.

## Where Grok stops

- It writes the email, but it does not design a finished, branded layout or test how it renders in email clients.
- It sends from your personal mailbox: no contact list, audiences, unsubscribes or sending domain.
- Nothing triggers an email when someone signs up or buys, and it sees no opens or clicks.

## What it costs

xAI documents custom connectors for all Grok users. Grok is now sold through the X Subscription: Free, Plus at $8 a month, Premium at $30 and up.

Brew is billed on emails sent and AI credits, with unlimited contacts on every plan: a free trial with 500 AI credits and 1,000 sends, then Growth at $99/month for 10,000 AI credits and 50,000 sends.

## Connect Grok to Brew

xAI says custom connectors are available to all Grok users on grok.com. On Grok Business and Enterprise, an admin adds the connector first.

1. **Sign in to Brew and pick a brand.** Start a free trial, paste your website so Brew writes your brand files, and connect your sending domain.
2. **Open Connectors.** Go to grok.com/connectors, click New Connector and choose Custom.
3. **Add Brew.** Enter https://brew.new/api/mcp and sign in to Brew. Grok finds Brew’s tools and uses them in your conversations.
4. **Ask Grok for an email.** Describe the email or flow. Brew asks you to confirm before anything is sent or goes live.

## Your agent runs your lifecycle email.

Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Grok over MCP and your agent gets every Brew tool. It designs emails from your brand, builds audiences, runs automations and schedules sends. OAuth and organization-scoped MCP connections ask you to confirm live sends and launches. Brand-scoped API keys can execute permitted calls without the MCP confirmation step.

## Every email designed from your brand.

Paste your website and Brew writes your brand into two files your agent reads for every email. Describe the email and it appears on the canvas, ready to edit by hand or in chat.

## Questions

### Can Grok do email marketing on its own?

Partly. Grok can write copy, make images with Grok Imagine and send the odd email from your own Gmail or Outlook. On its own it does not design a finished, on-brand email, hold your contacts, send from your domain or run automations.

### Can Grok send marketing emails?

Not marketing email. Grok’s Gmail and Outlook connectors send from your own mailbox, but it has no contact list, unsubscribes or sending domain.
Connected to Brew, Grok sends campaigns from your own domain to your audiences, with unsubscribes handled, after you approve.

### How do I connect Grok to Brew?

xAI says custom connectors are available to all Grok users on grok.com. On Grok Business and Enterprise, an admin adds the connector first. Open Connectors: Go to grok.com/connectors, click New Connector and choose Custom. Add Brew: Enter https://brew.new/api/mcp and sign in to Brew. Grok finds Brew’s tools and uses them in your conversations. Ask Grok for an email: Describe the email or flow. Brew asks you to confirm before anything is sent or goes live.

### Which Grok plan do I need for Brew?

xAI says connectors are available to all Grok users, so no paid plan is documented. On Grok Business and Enterprise, an admin adds the connector in the xAI console first.

### Do Grok’s emails come out on-brand?

Grok writes good copy, but on its own it does not design the email from your brand. Brew does: it writes your brand into files your agent reads for every email, then designs the layout, copy and images and tests how it renders.

### Does Grok send anything without my approval?

No. Over OAuth, Brew asks you to confirm before anything is sent or goes live, so the assistant drafts and you approve.

### What does it cost?

xAI documents custom connectors for all Grok users.
