## Before Brew

Before Brew, Harmonya’s email ran out of HubSpot. Whenever Cory wanted to send something, he would open a template, write it up, and send it to the whole list. In practice that meant **a monthly newsletter and the occasional product announcement, going to every contact regardless of who they were.**

The trouble is that Harmonya sells to enterprise CPG brands, where the person who cares about a category insight is rarely the person who cares about a pricing update. Doing that properly inside HubSpot would have meant more fields, more lists, and more segments to maintain, and Cory didn’t have the hours. **Email got about 5% of his week, and that was all it was going to get.**

## What changed

Cory kept HubSpot as the CRM and put Brew on top of it, so **the contacts stayed where they were and Brew took over the composing, segmenting, and sending.** Setup didn’t take long. Brew read Harmonya’s website to pick up the voice, colors, type, and imagery, and the sending domain was verified in an afternoon.

The bigger shift was connecting **Brew’s MCP server to Claude, so he could run campaigns from a conversation.** He describes what he wants, hands over whatever he already has, like a white paper, a blog post, or a video, and Brew comes back with the emails, a couple of A/B variants, and the sequence logic with its waits and branches. When he wants to see the layout he opens the Brew canvas, but most days he sends, automates, and reads results without leaving Claude.

The first sequence he built this way went out in three steps. A short email with a few stats, then a click through to the blog, then the white paper once the reader had seen the argument. **He read every claim against the source material before it launched.**

## The results

Cory says **opens and clicks have more than doubled** compared with the old all-list sends from HubSpot. More to the point, email went from an occasional update to something that runs like a proper lifecycle program, **and he is still spending roughly the same 5% of his time on it.**

The routine parts are automated now, like formatting the newsletter, sending to each segment, and nudging contacts who have gone quiet. What is left for Cory is the part worth his time: **working out what a category manager actually needs to hear,** rather than what to send “the newsletter list”.
