Hi there

By default, all Approov tokens are signed with your unique account secret using the HS256 signing algorithm. This uses a symmetric secret, meaning that your backend integration also needs to have access to the secret to verify Approov tokens. If you are protecting multiple API domains then they will be signed with the secret. Approov Keysets give you much greater flexibility, allowing you to choose from a wide range of different industry standard signing algorithms. These include asymmetric options where the backend integration only needs to know the public key to verify Approov tokens and the private key is held securely by Approov. It’s possible to import and export keys in JWKS format and there is an option to provide public keys on an JWKS URI endpoint. Moreover, you can choose different signing keys and algorithms for each API domain protected if you wish.
