Cohere commissioned IDC to develop an

in-depth InfoBrief on the state of sovereign AI adoption in 2026. The InfoBrief highlights the urgent need for shifting towards sovereign AI among enterprise leaders in regulated industries. The findings reveal a global wake-up call for leaders in the US, UK, Canada, and Germany: across every industry surveyed, leaders cite privacy, data leakage, and compliance as top concerns, even while they struggle to define sovereignty itself.

Key insights of the report include:

Risk awareness gaps: 1 in 3 can’t define sovereign AI in their own words and only 13% of leaders fully grasp sovereign AI, despite its strategic importance

Competitive momentum: Organizations are increasingly valuing data security and privacy as competitive market differentiators

Actionable roadmap: Sovereign AI strategy is not developed accidentally, so leaders must bridge the awareness-to-action gap by creating a strategic vision with specific steps

This InfoBrief is essential reading for VP and c-suite leaders navigating regulatory complexity and operational resilience. Dive into the full analysis to truly learn about the state of sovereign AI today.
