Hi there,

Big news today: Deepgram has acquired Daily, the creators of Pipecat, the most popular open-source voice agent framework in the world.

Pipecat gives developers the freedom to build with the models they choose. Together with Deepgram’s models, it makes something this market has never had: a complete, open, production-ready stack for voice agents. This makes Deepgram more open than ever, and we remain ecosystem first: the best capabilities, ours and our partners’, so customers succeed.

Pipecat stays open source under BSD 2-Clause and vendor neutral. Kwindla Hultman Kramer, Daily’s co-founder, joins Deepgram as Head of Open Source, continuing the work he started with Pipecat.

Our first project together is already out. The Real-Time Context Standard (RCS), developed with the Pipecat team, is an open standard that carries how a person sounded, and how the reply should be spoken, between every model in a voice agent. It is in Pipecat today, and we want you building on it and telling us how to improve it.

And that’s not all. At Deepgram Speak today, Ed Anuff will preview the Deepgram Voice Agent Platform, built on Pipecat, and two new LLMs built for voice agents. If you're here with us in SF, we cannot wait to show you in person, but if not, look out for a note from us later today.
