What's new at

Draftbit

Projects, BYO Claude &

ChatGPT, Supabase + more

Two big releases since the

last update, rolled into

one. We've been making

Draftbit an open place to

build: run the agent on

your own Claude or ChatGPT

subscription, wire up a real

Supabase backend, and give

all your apps a shared home

with Projects.

TL;DR → the big additions

Four big ones, up top.

Two releases rolled into one update. The headline stuff first — then a full accounting of everything else below.

Bring your own Claude or ChatGPT subscription

Already pay for Claude Pro/Max or ChatGPT? Sign in from the agent settings page and Draftbit's AI runs on your plan — no Draftbit credits consumed.

Projects: a shared home for your apps

Every app now lives in a Project, so assets, integrations, tasks, MCPs, and Supabase backends are shared across the apps you build together.

A Supabase backend, built in

Database, auth, and storage you can connect from Integrations or at create time — free during the open beta, with preview/production branches and an Edge Functions tab.

Websites, for everyone

A new app type: Astro websites. Use the same AI workflow to build fast, SEO-friendly marketing sites, landing pages, and docs right alongside your app.

Plans & billing

What's changing with credits & plans.

We're making Draftbit an open building environment that works with the AI you already pay for. Here's the short version.

Bring your own AI, on every plan

Connect your Claude or ChatGPT subscription, or bring API keys for Claude, OpenAI, and OpenRouter — free plans included. Use Draftbit with the AI access you already have.

Clearer plans, with a no-credits option

Plans now use a clearer "Base" naming scheme with easier-to-read BYOK availability. New lower-priced options drop the bundled credits entirely if you'd rather bring your own AI.

Free plans: a simpler starting grant

We're moving away from recurring free-credit grants. Free plans now start with a simple 5,000-credit grant, and we recommend Free users bring their own AI subscription or key while trying Draftbit.

Your credits are safe

Credits aren't going away. Anything you've purchased, earned, or been granted stays usable — and welcome credits now last a full year, with more ways to earn them.

An Astro website built in Draftbit

Websites, for everyone.

The full accounting

Everything else that shipped.

A dozen-plus releases, grouped so you can skim. Every one of these is live now.

Building with the agent

Prompt queueing

Queue follow-ups in an "Up next" list while the agent works — edit, reorder, or cancel any time.

Paste images & files

Drop screenshots, images, and docs straight into the chat composer.

Search your chats

AI chat history is now searchable, so you can find past threads and messages fast.

Start from a template

A gallery of designed UI kits, plus a visual Starter UI picker when you create a mobile app.

QR-code phone previews

Share pages show a QR code to open the live preview on a phone — and apps from public prompt links can be claimed.

A static preview fallback

Keep previewing from your last working state while the agent fixes an error.

Design, models & frameworks

A refreshed model lineup

Claude Opus 4.8, Sonnet 5, Haiku 4.5, and Fable 5, plus Qwen 3.7 Max, Gemini 3.5 Flash, and GLM 5.2.

Longer context before compacting

The agent now waits until 75% of the model's actual context window before summarizing.

Latest frameworks

New apps build on Expo SDK 54 and React Native 0.81, and can use Tailwind v4 and NativeWind v5.

Type-aware prop editors

Text, number, toggle, and dropdown editors for component props — with code mode when you need it.

More components, v1 icons back

Media, swiper, pin input, progress, and more — plus the cleaner v1 icon set across the panels.

Packages & custom fonts

Manage npm dependencies without a prompt, and upload TTF/OTF/WOFF/WOFF2 fonts to Assets.

Themes, palettes & typography

Fully editable for v1 and v2 apps — a token picker, a Palettes tab, and a searchable Google Fonts typography picker with live previews.

A revamped dashboard

A new layout with an inset, collapsible left sidebar and cleaner project and app cards — more workspace, less stack of pages.

Workspace, history & docs

Version History, upgraded

Paginated commit history — no more 50-commit cap — with commits attributed to whoever started the change.

Docs at docs.draftbit.com

v1 and platform docs merged into a single home, so you can always find what you need.

Build Config in one place

Env vars, packages, and legacy globals now live on a dedicated Build Config page.

Faster history & publishes

Git History and Publishing pages now page in with "Load more" instead of loading everything up front.

Mobile, publishing & reliability

A usable mobile builder

Mobile-first bottom tabs for content, agent, and preview — and the preview stays loaded as you switch.

A focused Simulator tab

A single-device mobile preview with iOS/Android, device, and orientation controls.

Bring your own Android keystore

Upload and reuse your existing signing key so Play Store apps keep their identity.

Steadier previews & sandboxes

Fewer blank screens, easier restarts, and reliability fixes across startup, install, and prewarming.

Account, security & credits

Tighter export security

GitHub export is github.com-only, and generated .env files stay out of your Git history.

Self-serve account deletion

Cancels owned subscriptions at period end and removes owned orgs and apps after a 72-hour delay.

Welcome credits last a year

Signup credits now stay usable for a full year, applied retroactively — with new ways to earn more.

A refreshed Hire an Expert page

Packages, monthly plans, and real testimonials — and the Hire Expert tab is back in the nav.
