Firecrawl

Hi there,

Most teams building on the web have the same quiet problem: the data was correct when they scraped it. A pricing page moved. A docs page got rewritten. A policy changed. Nobody noticed for three weeks, and the agent kept answering confidently from a stale snapshot. This month we rebuilt /monitor to fix that at web scale.

Web-scale /monitor watching the live web for changes

Web-scale /monitor: watch the web, not a list of URLs

What changed: /monitor used to take a set of URLs and diff them on a schedule. Useful, but it only ever knew about pages you already knew about. Now you define a query and a goal instead. Firecrawl's agents search, crawl, and re-check across the open web, and alert you the moment something matches — including on pages that did not exist when you set the monitor up.

Why it matters: if you are keeping LLM context fresh, staleness is not an edge case — it is the default state of any index you are not actively watching. A retrieval layer built on last quarter's crawl produces answers that are fluent and wrong, and that failure is invisible until a customer finds it. Monitoring by intent instead of by URL means your context refreshes when the world changes, not when your cron job happens to fire.

A concrete use case: a competitive-intelligence agent with the goal "tell me when any of these twelve vendors changes pricing or packaging." No URL list to maintain. When a vendor quietly ships a new tier on a page nobody had bookmarked, the monitor catches it, hands you clean Markdown of the diff, and your agent answers from current data the same day.
