Hi there,

This week, we hosted GrafanaCON 2026 in Barcelona—and, of course, AI took center stage. From new ways to observe agent behavior in real time to a more powerful Grafana Assistant, here’s a quick look at what’s new in Grafana Cloud, plus other highlights from our biggest community event of the year.

But first, want to learn about all the latest updates to Grafana Cloud? Click below to visit our docs, which you can filter based on specific features and tooling.

AI Observability: get real-time insights into agent behavior

When running AI in production, traditional observability tools fall short, leaving teams guessing when it comes to the quality, cost, and risks associated with their AI agents.

To address this gap, we’ve built AI Observability in Grafana Cloud, a solution that offers deep, real-time visibility into agent performance and behavior.

Highlights of AI Observability, now in public preview, include:

Real-time visibility: Inspect full conversations, tool calls, execution flows, token usage, and costs in one place.

Unified observability: Correlate AI signals with traditional telemetry for true end-to-end insights.

Continuous evaluation: Detect low-quality outputs, policy violations, anomalies, and risks like data exposure.

Integrated with Grafana Assistant: Use natural language to investigate issues and get remediation guidance.

OpenTelemetry support: Instrument once with a lightweight SDK and capture all relevant AI data automatically.

Built-in alerting: Get notified when agents behave unexpectedly using LLM-based or rule-based evaluations.

Try out AI Observability in demo mode to get a feel for how it works, then hook up your own agents and start analyzing.

Grafana Assistant works wherever you do

Engineers lose time when they have to bounce between Grafana Cloud, their IDE, Slack, and the terminal just to get oriented during an incident. The latest Grafana Assistant updates close that gap, bringing Assistant into the tools and workflows you already use every day.

Some of the latest updates include:

Skills that encode how your team actually works: Upload runbooks, metric definitions, and team playbooks so every response reflects your specific environment.

Assistant in your workflows (not just the UI): Access Assistant via Slack, Microsoft Teams, an API, or the CLI to reduce context switching and collaborate where work already happens.

Bring your own agent: Connect Cursor, Claude Code, or any MCP-compatible agent to Grafana Cloud via the new MCP server, or use the new gcx CLI to build observability-aware workflows directly in your coding environment.

More updates to streamline dashboards + workflows

At GrafanaCON 2026, we also introduced a ton of updates to help teams get from data to insights faster, streamline workflows, and manage observability as code. Highlights include:

Suggested dashboards (public preview): Automatically discover pre-built dashboards tailored to your specific data sources.

Dynamic dashboards (generally available): Create more intuitive, responsive, and scalable dashboards that support growing teams.

Git Sync (generally available): Bring native GitOps workflows into Grafana Cloud to version your dashboards, manage changes via pull requests, and ensure consistency across environments.
