Grafana Assistant, the AI-powered agent in Grafana Cloud, helps you answer those questions using natural language, so you can spend less time navigating tools and more time solving problems.

Whether you've used Assistant to streamline onboarding, understand telemetry, or build your first dashboard, that's just the beginning. Click the prompts below to put Assistant to work across more of your day-to-day observability workflows.

🔎 Query generation, debugging, and explanation

Generate new queries, troubleshoot existing ones, and get plain-language explanations of PromQL and LogQL, so you can easily explore your data, no syntax-wrestling required.

Try asking:

Prompt 1: "Write a PromQL query to calculate P99 request latency for my services."

Prompt 2: "Review the queries used in this dashboard's panels. Are they optimized for the data source? Suggest any corrections or improvements.”

🚦 Infrastructure change validation

Before deployments, verify that your systems are healthy and free of warning signs. These prompts help you quickly identify anomalies, resource spikes, or degrading services so you can catch potential issues before they reach production.

Before deployment, try asking Assistant:

Prompt 1: "Are there any anomalies or warning signs I should be aware of before deploying?"

Prompt 2: "Show me the current error rate and latency trends for any of my services over the last 2 hours.”

Prompt 3: "Check if there are any resource spikes or unstable services right now."

🛠️ Bulk dashboard updates and maintenance automation

Need to make the same change across dozens of dashboards? Use Grafana Assistant to automate repetitive maintenance tasks—from updating panels to parameterizing data sources—saving hours (or days) of manual work.

Try asking Assistant:

Prompt 1: "Update all panels in this dashboard to use new_metric_name instead of old_metric_name."
