Seema's story — Satvic Movement

This month I'm not telling you someone's story, I asked her to share it herself. Seema is 31, from Mumbai.

Handwritten note from Seema

The doctors told me I would never walk again, and for 10 years of my life, I believed them. I'm writing this because I need you to hear how wrong that turned out to be.

Seema before her recovery

I was 21, in my final year of engineering, when my fingers simply stopped moving. The doctor said a word I'd never heard,

Rheumatoid Arthritis and called it incurable.

What this disease did to my body ?

I don't think I can actually describe that pain to you in words. I cried through most nights. Painkillers, steroids, one medicine after another, just so I could stand up and walk to the bathroom on my own.

Everyone around me got to live a normal life. My friends went shopping, they travelled, and I stayed inside, lying in my bed. My fingers were so stiff I couldn't even write my final year exams, the ones I'd worked four years for.

Rheumatoid Arthritis didn't just take my health, it took my life away.

Accepting that you're sick is one thing. Watching your friends keep living, falling in love, moving cities, becoming the people you were all supposed to become together, without you, is another thing entirely.

For ten years I lived every single day in pain, wondering if I'd ever get a normal life. There were nights I genuinely thought, what's the point of living, if all I am is a burden to the people who love me.

Then the pain got unbearable, and I decided to try anything.

I read about people who reversed diseases doctors called permanent. That's where I first heard the words "Satvic lifestyle". I had no idea what it meant.

I started small, because small was all I had strength for

The small Satvic changes Seema began with

I also stopped the chicken and eggs my own doctor kept telling me to eat, for "better health."

Handwritten note about giving up chicken and eggs

How many of us are handed the exact food working against us, by the very people we trust to heal us?

Nobody once told me food could be part of the problem. Or part of the way out. Once I changed what I ate, my body started feeling better almost right away.

I just sat there, staring at the numbers, and a thought of the last ten years crossed my mind.

The pain, the suffering, emotional, mental, physical, is something I wouldn't wish on any living being.

I wish I'd known this much sooner. There are so many of us carrying a disease like this for years. I hope my story pushes you to finally take that step, for yourself or for someone you love.

Whether it's BP, thyroid, PCOD, arthritis, or any other chronic illness.

Please don't wait ten years like I did. You don't have to.

Give yourself the chance to come out of it, once & for all.

If something in Seema’s story felt familiar, maybe this is your sign.
