An AI team can give you three confident answers and still leave you doing the work. One agent picks up an old budget. The next uses it in a calculation. The reviewer approves the result because the arithmetic is right. Nobody checks whether they started with the right number.

After our article on MCP and Tool Engineering, we can give an AI useful tools. This next part of our series gives those tools a job. You will begin with one agent, then build a small team whose work you can inspect before accepting it. The important change is giving every handoff a clear requirement and every result a check.

We will use the same workshop project throughout. You will change its budget, introduce a misleading note and deliberately damage an answer. You will see where the system stops, what it records and what needs fixing. The first exercises run without an API key. Then you can connect a model and compare the results yourself.
