Watch all the updates (6 min) Auto canvas size Auto canvas size Your video canvas resizes automatically based on the size of your video and its layout. Two cool things this enables: Completely hiding the background. In the past the only way to do this was by doing a screen recording that was perfectly 16:9 (or another fixed canvas sizes). Now just pick a full-screen layout and your canvas will neatly wrap around the screen recording, completely hiding the background. Even padding around your screen recording. No matter what aspect ratio your screen recording is, the auto canvas will keep a nice amount of padding around it when you use layouts that show a background. If your video has more than one clip, then the auto canvas size will be based on the first clip. New timeline The new Cut timeline We’re completely revamping timeline editing in Tella - starting with the Cut timeline. It’s now faster and more responsive, it displays your transcript below the waveform, and has precise timestamps. You can also hide or show parts you've remove. We also made it taller so that it’s easier to interact with. Over the next few weeks you’ll see similar upgrades coming to the Zoom, Layout and Effect timelines. Windows app updates Windows app updates The Windows app is almost out of beta - and in the last couple weeks there have been some huge updates: Pausing. While recording you can press pause and then resume when you’re ready. Speaker notes & teleprompter. Open the speaker notes to write down a script or notes then press play to turn it into a teleprompter. Speaker notes are completely invisible in your recording. Auto Zoom. The Windows app now supports Auto Zoom. Just record your demo and then Tella will apply zoom effects based on your cursor movement and clicks. Chrome extensions updates Chrome extension updates This is a huge update for the Chrome extension. We’ve made big improvements to performance and stability, and added new features: Recording resolution picker. Now you can set the resolution of your camera and screen recording. Disable the countdown. Don’t need the countdown? Switch it off! Virtual backgrounds. Blur your background or add a virtual background image. See yourself while recording (beta). You can now record with a persistent preview of your camera and the recording controls. Your preview and the controls won’t show up in your recording. This feature is only available when recording your browser tab or a specific widow - it’s not compatible with recordings of your entire screen. Enable “Picture-in-picture” from your Chrome extension Settings. Drag & drop + tags New ways to organize videos We’ve got two new ways to organize your library: Tags. Now you can create your own tags and apply them to your videos. This gives you an extra dimension for organizing your library. Tags are also available in the API and MCP. Drag-and-drop into playlists. Select the videos you want and then just drag them into a playlist. So much faster! Skills directory And to wrap things up, we’ve now got a Skills directory! As we discover more ways to edit videos with agents and the Tella MCP we’ll add the skills to the directory. Louise has a few more in the works already.
