Everything new in Brew this month
Hi 404:,
Welcome to the Monthly Brew, where I cover what's new in agentic email marketing and what we've been building.
Over the last month we spoke with more than 100 of you about how to make Brew better. This release is what came out of those conversations.
We've also been blown away by the clever ways you're using Brew, so I've passed on the best learnings below. My favorite: Cory now runs all of Harmonya's lifecycle marketing in 5% of his time, using Brew and Claude.
All the best,
Philip
P.S. If you're considering an upgrade, there's a very nice offer at the bottom.

Comments in Brew
Comments are live. Leave feedback directly on an email, pin a comment to the exact section you're talking about, and reply in a thread until it's resolved. No more feedback scattered across Slack messages, screenshots and docs. Your whole team reviews in one place, on the email itself.

Automations 3.0
Automations 3.0 is here. We rebuilt the automation builder so you spend less time clicking and more time shipping. Every step's settings now sit inline on the canvas, there's a dedicated triggers panel, and you get much cleaner control over the data coming into each flow.

Automations can now start only when the incoming data matches the conditions you set. Send a welcome flow only to signups from a specific plan, or fire a nudge only when a payload field says a user hasn't completed setup. No more building a flow and filtering everything out on step two.
Smarter branching
Splits are now four distinct step types, each doing one job well: percentage split for A/B tests, data split to route contacts by a field in their payload, filter to let only matching contacts through, and engagement to branch on whether someone opened, clicked, didn't open, didn't click, or did nothing at all.
Launch 03
Transactional emails
Transactional emails now live inside Automations, so password resets, receipts, welcome emails and team invites are built the same way as everything else in Brew. Mark a domain as transactional and emails sent from it go out without an unsubscribe link, exactly as transactional mail should. Leave it as marketing and the unsubscribe link is added automatically.

We handed Brew to a critic and hit record
Lars Nielsen reacts to Brew — watch the live reactionLars Nielsen reviews AI tools for a living and called our early version rough. Unscripted and with no second take, he builds a full branded newsletter from a URL and a design file, and calls it 'a really good product'.

Cory runs lifecycle on 5% of his time
Cory Nelson, Founding Director of Marketing at Harmonya, used to send a monthly newsletter with occasional product updates. With Brew he runs a full lifecycle program on about 5% of his time. Engagement more than doubled, and email is now one of his top revenue channels. The GTM Engineer wrote up how he did it.
