So if you've never met me, two of my favourite hobbies happen to include speaking too soon and shooting myself in the foot.

Remember when I very confidently wrote about how we're not that into AI at DatoCMS. Yeah... Case in point.

We shipped a LOT of AI-ey features recently, and none of them are just for hypemaxxing.

AI, AI, AI, AI

Say hello to DatoCMS Agent Skills. Agent Skills are for longer coding sessions where your agent needs more than just API access. It needs to understand how DatoCMS realllly works, what the conventions are, how things fit together. Skills makes that happen.

We also rolled out the brand new DatoCMS Remote MCP. Your AI assistant can now read and update your DatoCMS content for you while you wait in line for coffee. No dev setup, no API tokens.

And to make it super easy for your content teams to use the MCP, I also recorded an in-depth User Guide that covers the connection, managing your projects, and then making changes from Mobile.

To make all of this work seamlessly in your workflows, the last couple of weeks brought a set of converging improvements across the CLI, the JS CMA client, and the structured-text packages. This includes a complete rewrite of the docs on Records and Updating Records.

Oh, and speaking of docs, bossman also gave the docs homepage a fresh coat of paint, and made major updates to the docs search, introducing improved search results with semantic search and a new "Ask AI" feature.

There's also a updated AI Asset Source plugin. The older version generated Dall-e stuff. The new version uses OpenAI and Google models. All from directly within the media area.

Ok, enough AI for now?

We've also raised the CMA limit of the developer plan from 10K to 25K monthly API calls to make it easier to get started with projects on the free plan.

The DatoCMS CLI is now published on npm as `datocms`, an unscoped package with the same name as its binary. The scoped `@datocms/cli` package is still around as a thin alias, so existing setups keep working unchanged. This means that `npx datocms` just... works.

I spoke with Thomas and Martin from Eurac about their work with DatoCMS on our latest Case Study with Eurac. This massive project brings together a Content Hub that's powering 20+ websites from a single project, connecting 800~ researchers, external APIs, custom plugins, 100+ editors, multiple locales, and so much more, ALL MANAGED BY A WEB TEAM OF JUST 3 PEOPLE. I had a blast talking to them about this.
