Hello!
This month, we launched another free tool along with a range of product improvements. We also published new content focused on Lighthouse. Let’s take a look!
New Free Tool: Page Speed Bottleneck Finder
July saw the launch of our new, free Website Bottleneck Finder tool. This tool was created because not every resource that slows down your page is marked as render-blocking by Chrome. Some requests can still delay key metrics such as First Contentful Paint (FCP) and Largest Contentful Paint (LCP).
The tool also provides an alternative to reading request waterfalls by classifying each request as Blocking, Not Blocking, or Maybe Blocking. This makes identifying potential page speed bottlenecks much easier to investigate.
For a full breakdown of how the tool works then check out blog post. Then, give the tool a try for yourself here.
Lighthouse Best Practices
We often receive questions from customers about Lighthouse scores, so we decided to take a deep dive into the Best Practices category. We examined each individual audit and the most effective optimizations for achieving a perfect score of 100.
There is a lot to cover, so if you’re looking to improve your Lighthouse scores, then this guide is definitely worth reading.
Read the guide here.
DebugBear’s MCP Server
Our newest video takes a look at the DebugBear MCP server. If you’re curious about working with the MCP server, then this tutorial covers how to get started in minutes with Claude.
We also show how the MCP server can take control and make changes to your projects based on your prompts. Using an MCP server can save a lot of time, making monitoring easier than ever.
New: Improved Comparison Data
Alongside launching our free Bottleneck Checker tool, we've also continued improving our paid product.
This month's updates focused on expanding data export capabilities, including the ability to export individual charts from custom dashboards and a HAR export for request lists to go alongside JSON and CSV.
We’ve also made compare mode more detailed. Highlighting the differences between test results with a new visualization for LCP Sub-parts and a change column which is available across both lab and RUM data.
Check out the full changelog for July to see what else we’ve been working on.
Regards,
The DebugBear Team
