Once upon a time, we were all waiting for the next model that would finally make it possible to write that line of code that would help us build that agent to automate that thing. Now those models are here, and yet still just 19% of orgs call their AI automation “Advanced” according to our 2026 Build vs. Buy Report. So why the disconnect?
Governance (or a lack thereof) is where automation projects stall out or break down—scattered tooling with no enforced layer underneath. Governance at the platform level will bridge the gulf between one-off, unmanaged automations and fully-fledged automated work.
It’s something Pierre-Yves Calloc’h learned while running AI programs at Pernod Ricard. His team treated governance as a design constraint from the start, and ultimately deployed a sales tool across 28 countries with 85% adoption and $15M in annual ROI in the US alone. The 19% of orgs who’ve gotten there made the same call.
🚀 What’s new
View audit logs across spaces
Organization admins in the admin space can now see audit logs from all spaces in one place. Use the Space filter on the Audit logs page to view events from a specific child space or across every space at once. Each entry includes a tag showing which space it belongs to. Available on cloud and self-hosted 3.391+.
Analytics for Retool Workflows (closed beta)
The new Analytics page gives you a view into workflow health across your org. Aggregate run counts, failure rates, and resource usage, plus get a ranked list of your most-run and most-broken workflows. Drill into any individual workflow for run history, latency charts, and per-run status. Available on all plans; closed beta on cloud and self-hosted Edge 3.387+.
Configurable memory limits for workflow code execution
Admins can now set a default memory limit for workflow code blocks at the org level, and workflow editors can override it per workflow. When a block hits its limit, it fails immediately with a clear error. Available on self-hosted Edge 3.383+; stable coming in a future release.
