I'd spent 4 years piling my entire digital life into Google Drive.
Photos. Work contracts. Computer backups. All of it sitting there, neatly organized in folders — the quiet comfort of someone who had never had a reason to question it.
Until I did. And once you start questioning it, you can't stop.
But moving everything over felt like an overwhelming task
All it took was 4 steps:
1. I went to takeout.google.com
I selected only Google Drive, chose ZIP format and file size, and clicked "Create export". Google sent me a download link by email in under an hour.
2. I downloaded and unzipped the file
400GB of files, intact. Folders organized exactly as I had them in Drive.
3. I opened the Internxt desktop app and dragged everything in
Direct download from Internxt.com. Five minutes to set up. I dragged my folders into the app — automatic encryption, uploads running in the background.
4. I checked everything was there
I opened Internxt Drive in my browser and went through folder by folder. 400GB migrated, encrypted, and accessible only to me.
