August can feel like an in-between month.
People are traveling, schedules are inconsistent, and it’s easy to tell yourself that business will pick back up after Labor Day.
But the agents who have a strong fall don’t start building that pipeline in September. They're laying the foundation right now.
This week, make a list of 20 people in your database who could buy, sell, or introduce you to someone in the next 90 days.
Sort them into two groups:
10 people you should call personally.
10 people who need a useful follow-up, like a home value update, a market snapshot, or a few relevant listings.
That’s it.
All you need a clear group of people, a reason to reach out, and a plan to stay in touch after the first conversation.
Because “work your database” is too vague to be useful.
Call the people in group one with a specific reason in mind. This is not a generic "just checking in" call. It doesn't even have to be real estate related. Maybe you drove by a restaurant you saw them at once, or you saw pictures they posted of a recent family vacation. Approach them like a person, not a prospect.
You're probably a little less familiar with the folks in group two. For them, craft something useful... and a little more specific than you'd create for a generic email. Send them a light version of a CMA or a question about a home you recently saw hit the market in their neighborhood.
Spread these out over a week. That's 2 phone calls and 2 emails a day. This plan gives you plenty of time to work with your current clients, while making sure you have more clients to work with next month and beyond.

P.S. Wondering what to send the rest of your database? Our team crafts two emails for our clients every single week: one highlighting a recent blog post and another that covers the latest stories in real estate. Want to know what that looks like? Just reply "C-Drop" to this email and I'll send you a recent example.
