Scalr Customers,
We're updating Scalr's Terms and Conditions.
The new version takes effect on July 31, 2026.
Most of the changes are about making the terms clearer and bringing them up to date with how Scalr works today as a hosted platform, covering things like your data, our mutual responsibilities, and how subscriptions and orders work.
No action is required to accept the updated terms: if you keep using Scalr after July 31, 2026, the updated terms will apply. The current terms remain in effect until then.
Here's a quick summary of what's new:
Clear data ownership. You own your data. We only use it to run, secure, support, and improve the Service, and any usage analytics we collect to improve Scalr is aggregated or de-identified.
New Customer Data section. Spells out how your configurations, code, and credentials are handled, your responsibility to export data before a subscription ends, and limits on submitting regulated or sensitive data (such as health or payment-card data).
Mutual confidentiality and indemnity. New sections that protect both sides, including our commitment to defend you against third-party intellectual-property claims arising from your use of the Service.
Trials, betas, and free plans. A dedicated section explaining how evaluation features are provided.
Support and availability. Clarifies that support levels and uptime commitments are governed by your Order, our Support Policy, and SLA.
Subscriptions and billing. Clearer language on auto-renewal, 30-day non-renewal notice, invoice disputes, and late payments.
Orders and signed agreements. If you have a signed order or agreement with us, its commercial terms take precedence where they differ.
Additional provisions. Added Force Majeure and Assignment sections, and confirmed California as the governing law.
