Welcome to Day 1 of Init. Today, we’re introducing Appwrite 2.0.

Init has officially begun, and we’re kicking things off with our biggest platform update yet.

Appwrite 2.0 is a new foundation for your apps. We rebuilt the engine underneath Appwrite, expanded the databases you can build with, and added support for more of the standards and tools developers already use.

What to expect this week

Today, we announced the introduction of the new Console, based on TanStack Start, along with the Explorer, which allows you to test Appwrite's REST API in the Console, and the Terminal, which brings the Appwrite CLI to the Console. We also shared details about Hyperloop B, the new coroutine engine powering Appwrite Cloud.

In addition, we shared previews of the following launches coming up this week:

Appwrite Databases gives you more choice depending on what you’re building. Alongside TablesDB, you can use DocumentsDB, VectorsDB, native PostgreSQL, and native MySQL, all within Appwrite.

Appwrite Storage supports an S3-compatible API, so your existing S3 tools and workflows can work with Appwrite buckets.

Appwrite can also act as an OAuth 2.1 and OpenID Connect provider, letting your project power authentication for other apps and platforms.

We are also hosting a Reddit AMA with our engineers today, where you can ask questions about Appwrite 2.0, today’s launches, and how everything works under the hood.
