AI Lab by ActiveCampaign
Hey John,
Have you ever messed around with ChatGPT or Claude for a few days… only to shrug and not get what the big deal is?
That’s probably because you have greater needs and broader context than a single AI chat session can provide. Instead, consider file-aware workspaces like Claude Code and Cursor that allow you to create your own architecture for agents to navigate.
If that sounds like Greek to you, don’t worry, this edition's AI Lab story will show you what’s possible.

May 28th: What’s AI good for? A killer email program
A BTS look at how a small team runs events at scale
Evan Cox fed 21,000 emails into Active Intelligence and asked it what to do next. It told him.
Which subject lines were actually working (spoiler: a 25-point gap he never would have caught manually). Where his sign-up sequence was losing people. What his August workshop did better than his November one. All of it, from two prompts and a conversation.
Join our next webinar May 27th, 2026 at 1pm CST about What happens when you feed AI 21,000 emails and ask what to do next
He and Mason Cosby are walking through the whole thing this Wednesday, the 27th. They’re using their real account, not a demo environment or polished-up version of reality.
If your email analysis process is currently "vibe and hope," this is the 30 minutes that changes that.

It’s time to up your prompting game
Bob Pearson built Dell's first global social media organization and teaches AI at UT Austin. His hot take on prompt engineering? Stop obsessing over it.
"Prompt engineering is a tactic. Strategic systems thinking is a competitive advantage."
What he actually cares about is building systems that ask better questions and feed AI data nobody else has. A few things worth stealing from how he thinks about it:
Stop treating AI like Google. A vague question gets a vague answer. The more context and specificity you give it, the less revision you do after.
Build your own data pond. Everyone is using the same tools. Your edge comes from feeding them your own customer data, behavioral patterns, and research that your competitors simply cannot replicate.
Give each tool a job and a title. Bob's stack has a smart assistant, a head of research, and an analyst for deep document work. He treats them like a team with distinct roles, not one tool doing everything.
The more specific and data-grounded your prompt, the more actionable your output.
