A/B test your funnel
Small, measured changes that add up to real conversion lifts
Hi John,
Guessing is expensive. An A/B test splits traffic between two versions so you can prove which one converts better, protect your conversion rate while you iterate, and confidently ship the winner. When analytics show a drop-off or stakeholders disagree, testing settles the debate with data.
1. How to set it up
Open your funnel and duplicate it (A = original, B = variation). In B, change one element that matters: headline clarity, question order, step count, or CTA label. Create the A/B test in involve me and share the A/B test URL or embed, not individual links, so traffic is split correctly. When the result is clear, keep the winner and archive the rest.
2. What to test first
Start where friction is highest. If the Detailed Metrics tab showed a drop on step two, test fewer fields or move the pricing question later. If mobile engagement lags, try a shorter headline and above-the-fold CTA in mobile view. Social proof near the CTA and outcome-focused button copy (“Show me the fitting product”) are reliable lifts.
3. Run it properly
Give each variation enough traffic to learn, avoid changing multiple things at once and let the test run through a complete cycle of your traffic (at least several days) before calling it. Track the same primary KPI you care about, completion rate or submissions, and confirm that the winner holds across key segments (device or country).
Create your first A/B test
Duplicate your highest-traffic funnel, make one improvement to reduce the biggest drop-off, create the A/B test, and publish the A/B URL. Make sure to note down today’s baseline completion rate so you can measure the lift.
